Violinist Albert Spalding was an American virtuoso with an international career, one of the most in-demand soloists during the first half of the twentieth century. His collaborations collected here – with pianists Ernő Dohnányi and his frequent accompanist Anthony Kooiker – were recorded by the University radio station. Dohnanyi’s student Eduard Kilenyi preserved these tapes and eventually donated them to the International Piano Archives at Maryland, which has now kindly made them available for this publication.
