Internationally renowned flautist Jennifer Stinton has performed as soloist on many international stages and festivals, including a live broadcast concerto performance at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw. Here she is joined by one of the leading accompanists, Malcolm Martineau in a program of attractive arrangements for Flute and Piano of Sonatas and Variations from Schubert and Beethoven. Recorded originally in 1991, and presented digitally for the first time in full high resolution remasterings from Urlicht AudioVisual.
“The flute is remarkably flexible in its personality as an instrument. Capable of a wide dynamic range and possessed of both eloquence and dramatic projection, together with unrivalled fluency and brilliance when played by a true virtuoso whose musicianship places virtuosity at the service of interpretation. As the soprano member of the woodwind family the flute’s compass is similar to that of the violin and brings a unique tone colouring to transcriptions of string music.”
