At the height of the LP era, Musical Heritage Society established itself as a preferred label for outstanding recordings of historically informed performance from medieval music to the Baroque era. Among several comprehensive surveys of important and previously underrepresented repertoire was harpsichordist Gerald Ranck’s collection of English composer Henry Purcell’s collected works for harpsichord. Newly remastered from archival sources, this significant release returns to the catalogue with original liner notes and in a new high-definition transfer.
