Bach composed his Six Sonatas for Violin and Harpsichord between 1717 and 1723. These sonatas began to shift what the Sonata was, taking the harpsichord from a supporting role to a more prominent one.
Igor Oistrakh, son of famous violin virtuoso David Oistrakh, originally released these recordings on the Melodiya label in the 1980’s. Musical Concepts Opus is proud to release these remastered versions, now in high resolution for the first time.
