Percy Grainger was a master of instrumental and orchestral miniatures, and this release brings together some of the most acclaimed Grainger recordings: Frederick Fennell’s legendary Eastman-Rochester “Pops” orchestra program combined with his landmark recording of Grainger’s “Lincolnshire Posy” with the Eastman Wind Ensemble, a musical and engineering tour-de-force from stereo’s golden age. The program concludes with two short works for piano and orchestra with the composer himself at the piano, joined by legendary Danish maestro Per Dreier and the Aachen Symphony Orchestra.
