Throughout his career, Artur Rubinstein was a chamber music partner in recital and the recording studio with artists who truly deserve the label “legendary”. During the early stereo era, Rubinstein partnered with Henryk Szeryng in chamber music by Johannes Brahms – including the three violin sonatas, considered by many to be the crown jewels of late romantic violin repertoire – in what have come to be regarded as benchmark recordings.
Parnassus is pleased to release these recordings for the first time in high-definition 96k 24-bit sound, transferred and digitally remastered from premium high-speed analog tape sources.
