The Musical Concepts Group of labels arose in 2004 initially as an exclusive licensee of the Vox Catalogue of Recordings. Out of this the Alto Label was created in 2006 to reach beyond that source and a relationship with the owners of the Vanguard Catalogue developed. In 2010 the group started its own worldwide distribution with all material available through Digital Service Providers, and further collecting CD labels Griffin, Northern Flowers, Parnassus and Urlicht Audiovisual.
The Group produces a steady flow of titles on CD and digital, as well as various digital only offerings. The aim is to curate Classical and Classic Nostalgia repertoire with engaging liner notes and intuitive album couplings for musical enjoyment.
