Early Music from England and Germany

Seventeenth and Eighteenth Century works for orchestra from England and Germany. The first several tracks are a collection of Elizabethan-era “portraits”: Lady Rich, Jack and Jone (Thomas Campion), Semper Dowland semper dolens (John Dowland), My Selfe (John Bull), Giles Farnaby’s Dream (Giles Farnaby), Bonny Sweet Robin, All Looke Be Pale (Campion), and Wolsey’s Wilde (William Byrd).  The album also includes Erasmus Widmann (Portraits in Music), John Maynard (three portraits from The Twelve Wonders of the World), and Georg Philipp Telemann (Trio Sonata in C Major).
